A Perfect Match in Cello - Piano Duo Heaven - Imre Kalman, one of the most outstanding Cellists of his generation and his Pianist Claus Friedrich Franke.

The two friends and accomplished musicians with international experience share an instinctive understanding in music and ensure meticulous and very superior performances.

Claus Friedrich Franke, a native German who currently resides in Okinawa and Imre Kalman from Yugoslavia, were colleagues at University for Music and Arts  Detmold/Germany.  Both are accomplished artists who have played on international stages.

“It is very inspiring to be performing in places of different cultures”, they both say. Both musicians, not only perform in European countries, but also actively hold performances in Japan, Thailand,  and many other countries in Asia.

Claus Friedrich Franke was born 1959 in Bamberg/Germany. Having started studying the piano at the age of nine he began early to develop a strong passion for chamber-music and played early on a regular base with members of the ochestra of his hometown.

At the age of 16, Claus Friedrich Franke was joining his first piano-trio ensemble, which became in his hometown very well known. After his high-school degree he went on to further his piano studies in Germany at the Detmold Music Academy with Wilfried Kassebaum. Master classes were numerous and included those with Werner Genuit and Roberto Szidon.

In 1995 Claus Friedrich Franke published his first CD recording. Before and after this he was invited to participate in numerous festivals around the world. He performed in Peru, Brazil, Thailand and Japan and recorded a lot of music for radio and TV. At the present Claus Friedrich Franke is living in Japan.
